Program Leader (Casual)

Infuse Program Leaders are the on-the-ground educators and facilitators who bring Infuse Travel programs to life. They guide our students through immersive, impactful travel experiences across Australia and around the world, balancing safety, logistics and group dynamics while encouraging learning and reflection.

Part mentor, part facilitator and part logistics guru, an Infuse Program Leader creates the conditions for meaningful student engagement. As a Program Leader, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring a transformational learning experience for our students on every program. This entails keeping students safe; following the program itinerary; providing appropriate supervision; implementing Infuse’s Learning & Teaching Framework; and creating a positive work environment for other employees. You have the opportunity and great responsibility to engage with amazing communities and change the lives of youth across the globe.

While our casual applications remain open year-round, we only conduct two intakes and interview rounds each year. Responsibilities

  • Lead each program in its entirety, as outlined in the detailed itineraries provided by your manager.
  • Take responsibility for the success of your program.
  • Manage day-to-day logistics for a smooth and successful program.
  • Monitor and manage student health and well-being.
  • Facilitate food shopping, meal preparation and clean-up to cater for students and staff.
  • Drive and maintain cleanliness of Infuse Travel’ vehicles to transport students during the program.
  • Notify and update your Program Managers about any program changes and safety issues, including incidents and vehicle damage.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, including post-trip reports and incident reports.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for students.
  • Respond calmly and respectfully to any issues as they arise
  • Comply with and follow the guidelines set in the Program Risk Management Plan.
  • Follow and implement Infuse Travel’ core learning values and framework
  • Represent Infuse Travel with integrity in all communities where we visit and work

Requirements

  • All applicants must be minimum 23 years old
  • Valid employment Working with Children's Check
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in service-learning, tourism, outdoor leadership, youth mentorship, customer service, or experiential education.
  • Native-level fluency in English
  • Outdoor leadership qualifications and/or demonstrated experience
  • Strong experience working with youth and/or international service groups WFR, WFA or Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certified before start of work.
  • Valid drivers license Willingness to obtain a Basic Water Rescue Qualification (or higher) and food handling certification.
  • Willingness to maintain and update required qualifications as listed above.

Program Manager (TAS, Southern WA & Outdoor Ed)

Infuse Travel is seeking a Program Manager to join its full-time team. This is a unique opportunity to design, develop and manage a  portfolio of our experiential learning programs across Australia.

Infuse Travel is a leading Australian student travel organisation that  specialises in service-learning, cultural immersion, outdoor education and  leadership expeditions. Our mission is to promote active citizenship through  experiential learning programs that create positive change for people and the  planet. Our head office is in Mornington VIC and our operational footprint  extends across Australia and into 15+ countries.

The Position

As Program Manager, you are ultimately responsible for the success of the programs in your portfolio. Your role entails designing, preparing and delivering programs to achieve defined outcomes for clients, community partners and stakeholders. The role involves programming, reservations, logistics, resource management, training staff, managing relationships with community partners and suppliers, and supporting our operations team. You will be required to travel away from home for up to 75 days per year to deliver onsite training, support your team of casual staff, coordinate simultaneous programs and personally lead several programs.

Applicant Pre-Requisites

  • 5+ years employment in outdoor education and/or student travel
  • Relevant tertiary or VET qualification in Outdoor Education or Outdoor Recreation (e.g., Certificate IV, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree)
  • Sound understanding of Australian Adventure Activity Standards
  • Experience designing and managing multi-day, multi-activity outdoor education programs
  • Prior experience coordinating or managing multiple groups of students in educational travel
  • Experience driving 4WD vehicles in remote parts of Australia
  • Current LR/MR licence, confidence towing large trailers, lifeguard qualification and wilderness first aid (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model and mentor for Program Leaders.
  • Take full responsibility for the success of programs that are assigned to you to manage, including but not limited to:
    • Nationwide Programs: Outdoor Education Programs
    • Regional Management: Tasmania, Southern Western Australia
    • Regional Support: Sydney & South Coast NSW
  • Plan and manage each assigned program in its entirety, from development of itineraries and budgets through to the delivery and post-trip follow-up.
  • Plan and deliver training for Program Leaders rostered onto your programs.
  • Ensure that all safety & risk management protocols are followed are met, including vendor vetting, risk management planning, and adventure activity standards.
  • Support Program Leaders with logistics and any issues that arise during a program.
  • Be available and willing to be on-call while groups are on the ground.
  • Maintain a high level of availability and responsiveness during work hours, ensuring prompt replies to calls and messages to support time- sensitive operational needs.
  • Complete post-trip surveys and debriefs with Program Leaders. 
  • Report all incidents to the Operations Manager and ensure documentation is completed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, including negotiating rates and service agreements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to deliver high impact service projects for our students.
  • Represent Infuse with integrity in all communities we visit.
  • Develop curriculum, content and training materials to improve student learning.
  • Design new itineraries and experiences to expand our portfolio of programs.
  • Understand clients’ needs and collaborate with our sales team to improve program design and delivery.
  • Provide sales staff with documents such as itineraries, budgets, packing lists, service project details and pre-departure information.
  • Contribute to Infuse strategic planning and business development through staff meetings, workshops and cross-team support.
  • Any other general business tasks in accordance with operational requirements as reasonably directed by management.

How We Evaluate Success

You report to our Operations Manager who will evaluate your performance according to the following metrics:

  • Outcome Metrics (75%) o Client satisfaction (average Net Promoter Score of 85 or higher)
    • Timely compliance with directives and deliverables
    • Client retention rates year-on-year
    • Growth in revenue, schools and student numbers
  • Team-Work Metrics (25%)
    • Motivated and self-driven, coachable learner
    • Communicate effectively across teams and cultures
    • Net positive contributor to team morale

Time Allotment

Full time, 5 days per week.

Ongoing employment after 12-month probation and successful performance review.

Remuneration

  • Indicative salary range AU$75,000 - $85,000, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
  • 12% superannuation.
  • Four weeks annual leave.
  • Time in lieu and flexible working arrangements.

Location

Mornington VIC, or working remotely from home within 1 hour of a capital city.
