Ricardo Romero
Country Manager
Ricardo has been working in ecotourism since he first served as a river guide while completing his degree in Business Administration at La Universidad de Costa Rica. He was part of Costa Rica’s 1998 National Rafting Team and participated in the white water rafting World Championships. In 2005 he changed gears and started his journey in experiential education. Ricardo is a calm, collected, and analytical operator who brings a unique and balanced perspective to the business operations to our team. Outside of work, Ricardo enjoys spending time with his wife Marcela and son Mateo on the beach, up in the mountains, or in the rivers of his native Costa Rica.

Infuse Travel currently offers an 8-day Costa Rica Service Learning Adventure Program for schools and can also build tailored curriculum-aligned tours in this area. On the 8-day program students visit San Jose, La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano National Park and Sarapiquí River while participating in impactful service work.
Our programs are designed as "classrooms without walls," intentionally mapped to global frameworks such as the IB Learner Profile, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Australian/School Curriculums and study areas.
We focus on cross-disciplinary priorities like environmental stewardship and intercultural understanding. For IB students, our Costa Rica projects in the Bribri and Sarapiqui communities offer robust opportunities for CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) and global politics case studies. We provide educators with pre-trip resources and post-trip reflection frameworks to ensure the field experience supports specific learning outcomes in Geography, Biology, and the Social Sciences.
Students engage in tangible, community-driven projects rather than "voluntourism." In the Bribri and Sarapiqui communities, students work on infrastructure improvements and educational enrichment, such as small-scale construction. On the Osa Peninsula, students assist with sea turtle conservation and reforestation. These projects are developed in long-term partnership with local leaders to ensure that student contributions meet actual community needs and foster genuine cultural exchange.
