Join the group for an orientation discussion about the trip ahead, expectations for your adventure, and an introduction to the local culture. Days 2 - 4: Trek into the Highlands (AJ Practice Trek)

Explore the local markets as you gather last minute supplies in town and then travel by truck into the Nausori Highlands, the jumping-off point for your three days of hiking through Fiji’s interior. Explore trails which local Fijians have used for generations to travel between villages. Expect to meet plenty of friendly locals, swim beneath towering waterfalls, take in spectacular mountain vistas, and learn about the local vegetation—including what can be eaten and what may be used for medicine. Join your group for a mid-trip discussion where you will begin to reflect on what you’ve experienced and learned so far. These 3 days will be the practising component of your expedition

Day 5: Final day of Trekking (AJ Practice Trek)

Pack your gear for the final day on the hike and take the two-hour trek to a small Fijian village. Meet the local chief while presenting the yagona plant and participate in a kava ceremony. Tour the village and meet your homestay families who will quickly become a big part of your experience.

Days 6 - 10: Service Projects & Village Life (Residential Project)

Learn the Fijian language through daily informal lessons from your homestay family and our local staff. Contribute to ongoing grassroots infrastructure and education projects within the village. Explore the surrounding highlands area, visit a waterfall, swim in the river, and spend time with the local families. Share stories, enjoy traditional Fijian dance, and join your group for a post-service debrief each evening, discussing what you experienced and learned through hands-on work in the community.

Days 11 - 14: Return to the Coast (AJ Qualifying Trek)

Spend the next four days trekking out of the highlands back down to the coast. Camp in small Fijian villages along the way. Your Fijian guides will be there to support you in the event of an emergency.
