Before a program begins, we consider the destination, activities, accommodation, transport, environment and the needs of the student group.

We develop a Program Risk Management Plan and consider appropriate controls, emergency procedures and alternative arrangements.

Prepare
Student medical information is reviewed, Leaders are briefed and teachers receive the information they need to prepare their group before departure.

Monitor
Our teams stay aware of changing conditions throughout a program, including weather, local conditions, security considerations and other circumstances that may affect the group.

If something unexpected happens, our Program Leaders and Infuse support team have clear roles and access to the people and resources needed to respond.

Every Infuse program starts with thorough risk planning. We develop a comprehensive Program Risk Management Plan, assess destination and activity-specific risks and prepare clear emergency and incident response procedures, with every participant’s medical and emergency information carefully considered.

24/7 specialist
support
Infuse provides 24/7 operational support and access to medical and mental health professionals. We work with World Travel Protection and Cornerstone Safety Group for specialist medical, security, safety and wellbeing support for all our travelling groups.

From GPS tracking and satellite communication on remote and international programs to thorough pre-departure preparation through our online Basecamp courses, we make sure students, teachers and families are ready for the journey. If circumstances change, we have the systems, communication and support to respond.

Safety is paramount. Infuse Program Leaders follow rigorous safety protocols and emergency response plans to safeguard experiences for our school groups. On the ground, each group will have an Infuse Leader who is Wilderness First Aid Qualified, Lifeguard Qualified, First Aid Certified and CPR Certified. On top of all that, they’re incredible people who will ensure every trip is a memorable one.

CHILD SAFE POLICY
In addition to mandatory Working with Children Checks, Infuse staff are trained on our Child Safe Policy to meet the Australian Child Safe Standards. In our commitment to developing youth through experiential learning programs, we acknowledge our duty of care and the entrusted responsibility. Our organisation prioritises the safety and protection of each and every student. From the Director to Group Travel Coordinators and Program Leaders, we treat every student with the same care as our own, fostering a secure, encouraging, and supportive environment for their personal growth.
COMPREHENSIVE RISK MANAGEMENT PLANS
Comprehensive risk management and evacuation plans are designed for every program and vendor, with strict review and updating guidelines. We liaise with local and international authorities to assess changing environments and carefully mitigate risks. We’re not afraid to change plans or itineraries if we foresee unnecessary risk. We trust local knowledge and keep an ear to the ground at all times.
Customised Risk Assessments
A comprehensive Risk Management Plan is provided to all our school partners for approval in the pre-departure stage of the program.
Coordinated Incident Response Plans
A Coordinated Incident Response Plan (CIRP) as a key element of our risk mitigation strategy. A CIRP allows us to respond swiftly and efficiently to any unexpected events or emergencies, ensuring clear communication and seamless coordination between our team, schools, and local authorities.
By defining specific roles and responsibilities, outlining clear action steps, and establishing communication protocols, our CIRP ensures that every situation is managed effectively. This comprehensive plan not only minimises potential risks but also provides peace of mind to parents, schools, and participants, knowing that we are prepared to handle any crisis with professionalism and care. With a CIRP in place, we can maintain a safe and supportive environment for all involved, ensuring that our educational travel experiences continue to be enriching, secure, and well-managed.
24-hour back up
and support
Infuse provides 24-hour emergency support throughout every program, with our Australian operations team available to support Program Leaders on the ground.
For additional medical and travel assistance, Infuse also works with World Travel Protection, providing access to a global network of medical, security and travel assistance professionals.
World Travel Protection operates 24/7 Command Centres staffed by qualified medical, security, case management and logistics professionals. Its global network provides assistance across international destinations, including medical support, security assistance and emergency travel coordination.
This additional layer of support is particularly important when students are travelling internationally or in destinations where access to familiar medical and emergency services may be limited.

Every participant completes detailed medical and emergency information before departure. This allows our team to understand individual health requirements and identify any additional support that may be required during the program.
