To ensure our school travel programs remain aligned with experiential learning and teaching best practices, as well as consistently promoting active citizenship, Infuse Travel has developed our own unique Learning and Teaching Framework.
This framework forms the basis of our program design and learning resources, and has been carefully designed to advance the two core learning priorities of Critical Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development.

OUR GLOBAL LEARNING PRIORITIES
Critical Global
Citizenship
Education (cGCE)
Critical Global Citizenship Education involves the examination of local, global and intercultural issues, to understand and appreciate different perspectives and worldviews with consideration of the unequal and unjust power structures that perpetuate disadvantage, discrimination and ecological decline.
cGCE requires the capacity to understand and appreciate different perspectives and worldviews, as well as to establish positive interactions with people of different national, ethnic, religious, social or cultural backgrounds.
Infuse Travel focuses on a critical, rather than normative, approach to global citizenship, whereby questions of power, privilege and disadvantage in the global arena are central to the learning process.
Education for
Sustainable
Development (ESD)
Education for Sustainable Development empowers learners with knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to make informed decisions and take responsible actions for environmental integrity, economic viability and a just society empowering all people for present and future generations. As the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) states, ESD is “about empowering and motivating learners to become active sustainability citizens who are capable of critical thinking and able to participate in shaping a sustainable future.”
Combining these two priorities, Infuse Travel programs cultivate active citizens that are committed to positive social and environmental change at all scales, from the local to the global. We adopt a values-based approach to learning that has a strong focus on socio-emotional development. Our learning and teaching pedagogies seek to shift or advance student behaviours and attitudes to promote active citizenship and encourage a pedagogy of hope where students act in the world to transform oppressive conditions and expand possibilities for justice.

Our 7-Stage Learning and Teaching Framework
All Infuse Travel programs include comprehensive learning activities both pre-departure and post-departure, to complement on the ground activities. We develop these learning materials on a program-by-program basis to ensure they are relevant, aligned with global agendas and provide the most educational value to our school partners.
One of the most unique features of Infuse Travel’s framework is post travel pathways for embedding young people within coalitions for change. Through our 7-stage Learning and Teaching Framework we provide post-programme pathways for our most inspired students to join coalitions of collective action.
