Health & Safety

The health and safety of our program participants is at the core of everything we do. Our team of experienced guides and educators have extensive training in order to deliver impactful, safe, and culturally-relevant programming. This guarantees that the people developing, organising, and implementing our trips have first-hand knowledge of the places where we host our travellers. We employ the following measures to ensure the health and safety of our participants remains at the forefront of everything that we do.

Exceptional Program Leaders

Simply put, we hire the best of the best. Our program leaders come from all walks of life; outdoor educators, teachers, professional musicians, doctors, survival experts, psychologists, farmers, paramedics, professional surfers, tv personalities – you name it, we have probably had someone with that background lead our trips. Every single one of them brings their own unique skill set and perspective which is partly what makes our trips so amazing. The one thing they all have in common though, is we put them through Infuse’s comprehensive Program Leader Training which is an immersive experience that covers our stringent company operations policies and procedures.

In addition to this, leaders also are required to have their valid First Aid & CPR certificates and many of them also have their Wilderness First Responder/Wilderness First Aid Certificate which gives them the ability to respond effectively to a plethora of emergencies in a remote area context.

Proven Partners

We are proud to work with partners who also make safety their top priority. We ensure our safety standards through vigorous regular assessments of facilities, personnel, and safety equipment. We maintain close relationships with hotels and vendors by visiting locations often and maintaining constant dialogue with our operators. Our community partners aren’t just business partners, they are part of our extended family – we work and play alongside them and watch our families grow together. We work together constantly to improve our operations in an ever-changing world, and have mutual goals to provide the highest standard of experience for travellers.

Risk Management

We build comprehensive risk management and evacuation plans for every program and vendor, and review and update our contacts and protocols for each trip. We stay in touch with local, national, and international authorities in order to constantly assess the changing environment and carefully mitigate risks. We’re not afraid to change plans or itineraries if we foresee unnecessary risk. We trust local knowledge and keep an ear to the ground at all times.

For remote area programs, where mobile coverage is not available, our staff are trained and fitted out with satellite phones for emergencies and daily check-ins.

Every program has a minimum of two medical kits packed with all of the basic first aid required, including epinephrine to treat anaphylactic shock.

COVID 19 Safe Travel

We take the threat of COVID 19 pandemic seriously and as such have dedicated considerable time to ensuring our programs are as COVID safe as possible. As it is an ever-changing situation, we monitor both state and national government websites for the latest restrictions and advice. We adhere to the recommended guidelines set out by various state health departments and operational guidelines from the department of education. COVID-Safe Plans and associated policies are provided to clients prior to travel.

Child Protection Policy

All Infuse staff have their relevant state government Working With Children Checks prior to interacting with children. Our staff are trained on our child protection policy to meet the Australian Child Safe Standards.

We understand our duty of care and the trust placed in us when developing youth through experiential learning programs. There are inherent risks associated with any student travel program but rest assured that the safety and protection of each and every student is at the forefront of our organisation. From our Director to Group Travel Coordinators and Program Leaders, we treat every student like we would our own and provide a safe, encouraging and supportive environment for students to expand their horizons and push the boundaries of their personal growth.
