Outdoor Education

“A trip to the NT with the entire Year 10 cohort is a brilliant reminder that a holistic education goes far beyond the classroom walls. Taking both students and teachers alike out of their comfort zone is an integral part of student development. From being On-Country and learning the ways of our First Nations’ people, to exploring the vast beauty of the Northern Territory, these are the experiences that make school memorable.”

Toorak College
Year 8 Camp, Surf Coast

In 2024, Toorak College embarked on an exciting partnership with Infuse Travel to deliver an immersive Outdoor Education program for their Year 8 cohort. The aim of the program was to build on the foundational outdoor skills students had developed in Year 7, while introducing them to new activities and fostering a stronger sense of community within the group. Infuse Travel worked closely with Toorak College to craft an experience that not only challenged students physically but also contributed to their personal growth and socio-emotional learning.

Program Overview

The program was based on the iconic Surf Coast, offering a blend of structured learning and adventure in one of Victoria’s most breathtaking natural environments. Set at a private campsite along the Great Ocean Road, the students spent two nights in cabins, followed by two nights camping in tents during a multi-day hiking expedition.
