They will Welcome you to Mparntwe, a demonstration of their connection to Country. Our adventure starts by embarking on an enchanting journey to our On-Country experience on Atnartpa Homestead. We will drive approximately two hours to our hosts, the Arrernte and Mpartnwe (Mbantua) people, where we will be living and looking through the lens of navigating life between traditional and contemporary practices as a Traditional Owner in today’s world. Camp under the stars tonight On-Country.

Overnight: Overnight: On Country Atnartpa Homestead

During the next few days, you will witness first-hand intergenerational transfer of traditional knowledge as our time On-Country is largely unscripted; this provides space for the experience to be as organic as possible and based on community needs at the time. An afternoon will be spent with Oonchiumpa Consultancy and Services, where the local Aboriginal Traditional Owners are committed to working with vulnerable youth through a range of hands-on, culturally safe and community based activities.

Overnight: Alice Springs Discovery Park

For our last full day in Central Australia, we will immerse ourselves in the wonders of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park with several short hikes between the domes of this iconic rock formation.

On our last morning in Central Australia, you will have the opportunity to do some last minute sightseeing and souvenir purchasing in the Ayers Rock town centre, before farewelling your fellow educators and making time to continue this work back in the classroom!
