Together, you’ll travel to your hotel to rest up for your big adventure. Welcome, you’re going to have a great time on this Dominican Republic school trip!

After enjoying a delicious buffet breakfast, make your way to your new home in Juan Dolio, just a short drive from Santo Domingo. Once there, you can settle in and get comfortable in your new surroundings.

Familiarise yourself with the long history of baseball in the Dominican Republic, which is a vital aspect of the country’s culture and identity. Get to know your team before you dive into community service and lots of baseball games on this school trip to the Dominican Republic!

Get ready to work hard on this overseas student trip as you contribute to sustainable service projects in the community. Throughout your time in the Dominican Republic, you will help construct baseball fields for local youth, get your hands dirty with various infrastructure projects and clean up the surrounding beaches to help protect the environment.

After a hearty lunch, grab your hats, bats and gloves for your first baseball practice here in the DR! As you play and interact with locals, you’ll learn firsthand about the passion that Dominican people bring to this sport, which is a source of national pride, economic opportunity and social mobility for many aspiring athletes.

After 3 days of invigorating service and learning, you can look forward to unwinding with a well-deserved day of fun on your Dominican Republic school trip. First, take a short trip to the Cuevas de las Maravillas where you will find paintings and engravings by the Taínos, the Indigenous people of the Dominican Republic. Then, head out to Playa Bayahibe to spend the day swimming in the serene Caribbean waters and soaking in the sun on the beach.

After relaxing yesterday, you’ll continue 2 more days of service work on this overseas student trip. Alongside our community partners, you’ll continue working together on meaningful service projects.

Of course, you’ll also focus on your baseball game! Practice your skills, get ready to cheer on your teammates and hit those home runs!

In the evenings, immerse yourself in Dominican culture by exploring its history, dance, cuisine, and more.

It’s time to learn about some baseball history on your Dominican Republic school trip. Today your group will visit the Baseball Museum in Santo Domingo to learn about the rich history of baseball in the Dominican Republic. You’ll also walk away with some fun new facts, which you can share with your family at home.

Enjoy a team lunch in the Colonial Zone, taking in the sites of the old city. In the afternoon, you’ll wrap up the day with a mini baseball camp, working hard to fine-tune your skills before enjoying a well-deserved family-style dinner.

Over the next 2 days, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your baseball skills in your final games against a local Dominican team! This is the time to demonstrate everything you’ve learned about baseball over the past 10 days on this student overseas trip.

In the afternoons, wrap up the last of your service project and bid farewell to all the amazing people you've met in your new community of Juan Dolio.

Leaving Juan Dolio, take a road trip through the Dominican Republic, travelling through lush tropical vegetation and incredible coastline. Arrive in Los Patos for a lunch stop, where you and your group will get to see where the river meets the ocean!

After lunch, explore more of the Dominican Republic’s beauty as you travel to a hotel near the beach and enjoy a typical Dominican dinner.

This morning, embark on a stunning hike to Hoyo del Pelempito, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the valley. This is the largest protected area in the Dominican Republic and encompasses a vast geological depression dropping 700 metres, nestled between the Sierra de Bahoruco mountains.

In the afternoon, cool down by the pool and swim with your friends. Enjoy a delicious dinner and get some rest for your beach adventure tomorrow.

Get ready for pure paradise! Today on the student overseas trip you’ll explore Bahía de las Águilas, considered one of the most pristine beaches in the Dominican Republic. This beach is located on the southwestern part of the island and is protected by the surrounding environment, making it a Caribbean paradise. Enjoy your day soaking up the sun and gorgeous views!

As the sun sets, enjoy your dinner on the beach and sleep under the stars for the night, taking in this tropical paradise.

Today you’ll head back to Santo Domingo for a tour of the Colonial Zone. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a fascinating place: it is the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement in the Americas and is home to the continent’s first university, cathedral and hospital. Through a tour of the walled city, you’ll learn about the deep and rich history of this place.

After touring the Colonial Zone and doing some souvenir shopping, head over to a special dinner and dance show at a typical Dominican restaurant.

All adventures must come to an end and today you will finish your overseas student trip. Your Program Leaders will take you to the airport for your departure as you say goodbyes and reflect on your adventure in the Dominican Republic.
