Welcome to Darwin! Infuse Program Leaders will meet you upon arrival and you can expect a warm welcome to the service learning program. Prepare yourself - day one is going to be busy!

Tonight, experience Darwin come to life and explore the beachside stalls in search of outback crafts, souvenirs, and unique Top End delicacies at the famous Mindil Beach Sunset Markets. Be entertained by the street performers and marvel at the colourful sunset sinking into the Timor Sea.

Today will involve exploring more that Darwin has to offer! Your day will start with morning mass at St Paul’s Nightcliff. Then, you will visit the Royal Flying Doctors Service Museum at Darwin Wharf. Here you will learn all about the history of the RFDS and the bombing of Darwin Harbor during WWII through virtual reality and cinematography.

After lunch, you will go on a Darwin cathedral tour, discovering a different side of the Territory’s capital.

This morning you will travel to the Adelaide River region where you’ll be welcomed by a local Aboriginal family. These proud Limilngan-Wulna people will teach you all about their land and culture. You will discover medicinal uses for plants, be taught how to basket weave and even learn how to play the didgeridoo and throw a spear. At the end of the workshop, you will be served damper and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and reflect on your experience with your hosts.

No trip to the Top End is complete without seeing some massive saltwater crocodiles! Head out on the Adelaide River, 40 minutes south of Darwin, to see these amazing creatures jumping out of the water in a feeding show like no other. You can’t get this close to a crocodile in the wild (safely) anywhere else in the world!

This afternoon, we hit the road and head south to Katherine. We’ll stop at its spectacular hot springs before setting up camp and having a pizza party.

Today is a special day - you will get to see sunrise and sunset in 2 of Australia’s most iconic outback locations.

This morning we begin with a short hike from our campsite to watch the sunrise over Katherine Gorge. Then it’s time to hit the road and cross into Western Australia! The drive is approximately 6 hrs including stops along the way, passing through over million-acre cattle stations and small towns that barely exist on the map.

After crossing the WA border, make your way to Lake Argyle and set up camp. Enjoy a swim in the campground’s infinity pool before a sunset wildlife cruise on the lake! Explore the lake and learn about the Ord River irrigation scheme that led to the creation of 72 islands in one of the world’s largest man-made lakes. Keep your eyes open for rock wallabies and freshwater crocs!

It’s time to hit the dirt road to one of Australia’s most unique World Heritage areas. We know you’re going to love this one!

Purnululu National Park, or the Bungle Bungles, is well known as one of the most striking geological landmarks in Australia. The 360-million-year-old ranges formed from beehive-like mounds with orange and black stripes will make you question whether you have landed on another planet!

Lace up your boots and grab your camera - we’re off on an adventure! You will spend 2 days exploring these ancient landforms, narrow trails, creeks and cathedrals. The rock formations are truly out of this world. Hike into a natural amphitheatre and gaze out through nature’s own sky window! Star gazing in this world heritage national park is truly epic with no town or city lights close by.

This morning we’ll travel into Kununurra – the main township in the Eastern Kimberley region. Kununurra is the largest town in Western Australia north of Broome and is home to the Miriwoong and Gajirrabeng people. You’ll spend the next few days working with Infuse Travel’s service partners to provide support to local people and organisations.

Each day you will help with service learning programs such as cooking meals for an Aboriginal women’s shelter, wildlife rehabilitation at Kangaroo Haven, youth work with 54 Reasons (Save The Children), an arts program at the local arts centre and more. Service learning programs in the East Kimberley include building positive relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians, paving the way for greater cultural understanding and reconciliation.

After setting up camp and a quick swim to cool off you head out on your first service learning program….. toad busting!

Next up, you’ll be immersed in El Questro, one of the country’s most magnificent wilderness parks, conveniently located on the doorstep of Kununurra. You’ll spend the day exploring the best locations within this million-acre property. Hike and swim stunning gorges, thermal hot springs and waterfalls and catch the sunset from a lookout over the many rivers.

By night be amazed by the Milky Way while dinner is cooked over the campfire. We know you’ll fall in love with the turquoise swimming holes, fringed with ferns and palm trees in a red outback oasis!

Start your day with a soak in Australia’s most beautiful hot spring, Zebedee Hot Springs.

After recharging your batteries, we’ll make our way back to Kununurra for an evening service project.

After a relaxed morning by the pool, today we will say our last goodbyes to our new friends in the East Kimberley before returning to Darwin.

Upon arrival in Darwin, we will check in, freshen up and then head out along the waterfront for a final dinner together. We will spend the remainder of the evening sharing our favourite memories from the service learning program and wrapping up the trip in style at our Infuse Ties closing ceremony. What a perfect way to end your last day in the Top End!

This morning you’ll attend morning mass before exploring Nightcliff Markets. Then it’s time to make our way to the airport to start the journey home. We hope you loved your time in the outback!
