Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, where your Infuse Program Leaders will warmly welcome you to this Nepal school trip. Get ready for an exciting overseas student travel adventure!

From the airport, you’ll travel to our base hotel in Kathmandu. Enjoy the sights and sounds of bustling Kathmandu and get to know your Infuse Program Leaders during an evening of orientation. An exciting 2 weeks of trekking and service lie ahead of you!

Today on the Nepal school trip, we’ll travel to Pokhara, the second-largest city in the country, nestled in the foothills of the Annapurna mountain range. While the drive is long (6 hours), it passes through some of the world’s most incredible mountain scenery, so it is an attraction in itself! Sit back and enjoy the beautiful landscape as it passes by your window.

This evening, take a stroll through the streets of Pokhara, a picturesque city known for its stunning lakes and breathtaking mountain views.

Today on your school trip to Nepal, you get to explore stunning Pokhara and prepare yourself for the next few days of trekking. Before heading out, enjoy a delicious hot breakfast and take in the scenery around you.

During the day, we’ll visit some of Pokhara’s best attractions, including a visit to the Peace Stupa and Phewa Lake. In the evening, we’ll have our final trek orientation over a delicious dinner at one of our favourite local restaurants. Get some rest tonight because your overseas student travel trek begins tomorrow!

After breakfast, put on your trekking shoes and get onto the bus for a short drive to Nayapul, the starting point for our overseas student travel trek.

Upon arriving in Nayapul, enjoy a cup of Nepali tea and take a moment to relax before we begin our trek. We’ll start with a leisurely walk through local villages, gradually making our way through some steep areas to reach Hile. We’ll spend the remainder of the day exploring the nearby villages and engaging with the locals, so you can deepen your understanding of Nepali culture.

Prepare yourself, today is a big day of trekking on this school trip to Nepal. After an early breakfast, the trekking starts with a steep ascent to Ulleri. The climb is worth it - here you’ll get your first view of the towering Himalayan Mountains! Take a moment to appreciate the sight of some of the world’s tallest mountains spread before you.

Continue trekking through Asia’s biggest rhododendron forests, filled with colourful flowers and renowned for their stunning displays of vibrant blooms and rich biodiversity.

After 6 to 7 hours of total trekking, you’ll reach Ghorepani, your destination for the day. Enjoy a well-deserved delicious Nepali meal and a warm bed for the night!

Get ready for an early start - today, you’ll wake up at the crack of dawn for an early climb to the summit of Poon Hill (3200 metres). From the top, we’ll watch the sun rise across a magnificent Himalayan panorama and sit in awe of the highest mountain range in the entire world. It’s an experience you will never forget!

After breakfast, follow a long ridge through more colourful rhododendron forests to Deurali. Next, you’ll traverse magnificent river gorges where you might spot langur monkeys in the trees. Finally, you’ll arrive at your destination, Tadapani, where you’ll spend the evening reflecting on the day’s experiences and sharing stories with your friends.

Today is your final day of trekking! After breakfast, hike back to Nayapul, taking one last chance to appreciate the magnificent scenery in front of you.

Once you’ve arrived in Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara, where you can check in to your hotel and take some very well-earned rest, relaxation and a hot shower after an incredible overseas student travel trekking adventure!

After an incredible trekking adventure on your Nepal school trip, it’s time to leave Pokhara and return to Kathmandu. After breakfast, hop on the bus for the journey back to Kathmandu.

When you arrive in Kathmandu, spend the evening participating in a group discussion about your trekking experience, the challenges you faced and the insights you gained.

Today you can take a well-deserved sleep-in! Once you’re rested, head out to explore some of Kathmandu’s most exciting landmarks and attractions. First will be Durbar Square, where you will learn about the Malla and Shah rules of the Kathmandu Valley. Next, it’s off to Asan Bazaar. Here you’ll get a guided tour of the local market and learn how to make sense of the seeming chaos of people, bicycles and motorbikes. Sample Nepali spices and herbs and understand the economies of local clothing and Tibetan wholesale items.

Break for lunch outside the market and then head to the beautiful stupa of Swayambunath. Perched atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a famous Buddhist monument and pilgrimage site. On your way up to the stupa, keep your eyes peeled for the holy monkeys that play in the surrounding forest and bathe in the fountains of Swayambunath. Learn about the history of this monument, then watch as the sun sets over the Himalayan peaks outside the valley.

The next phase of the school trip to Nepal begins: 5 days of immersion into Nepali life and community service projects.

After breakfast, you’ll head to the nearby Rayale village in Kavrepalanchowk District, just outside the Kathmandu Valley, where you’ll be based for the next 5 days. During your time in the village, you’ll stay with a local Nepali family and dig into overseas student travel service projects. The specific projects will be defined closer to the program start date, as that will allow us to better assess the needs of the village, but could include construction, education or environmental service work.

During the days, you’ll work hard on service projects and in the evenings, you’ll spend time soaking in the deep but friendly Nepali culture. Take the opportunity to learn Nepali cooking with your homestay family, play games in the village and continue to debrief your experiences with your Program Leaders.

On your last day in the village, celebrate your time with a farewell party. Put on traditional Nepali dress and be prepared for singing and dancing – a favourite Nepali pastime!

This morning, say goodbye to your homestay family and hop on the bus for the ride back to Kathmandu. After a group photograph and some namastes with Team Nepal, it will be time to finish your overseas student travel experience and board your flight home.
