Learn how to navigate, survive and camp in one of Australia’s most diverse ecosystems, enjoying great camp-stove meals and night skies filled with millions of stars.

To start this outdoor education course, your Infuse Program Leaders will meet you at your school and take you on a 1.5-hour bus ride to rural Lake Somerset.
Expect a fun-filled day of developing essential outdoor survival skills, where you’ll learn correct paddling and rescue techniques and how to read a map of the lake. Take turns in leading the group on your adventure and participate in some water-based games!
After learning paddling and navigational skills, cruise to your lakeside campsite and set up your camp for the night. You’ll get to watch the sunset over the glassy lake before eating dinner under a blanket of stars!
Overnight: Lake SomersetWake up bright and early to the birds singing on the lake. Pack up camp, refuel with some brekkie and prepare for your paddle back to the bus.
During your morning paddle, you’ll practice some of the skills you’ve learnt with a few games and competitions. Then, eat some lunch on the grassy bank and enjoy some time swimming in the dam.
This afternoon, say farewell to the lake as your Infuse Program Leaders drive you to your next destination, Elanda Point. Here, you will recharge and refresh at the campsite overnight as you prepare for your next leg of the journey, through the Noosa Everglades.
Overnight: NoosaWake up to the mirrored views of the Noosa River and get ready for a journey to remember! After packing up camp and having breakfast, you’ll pick up your canoe at Elanda Point and start your paddle to the Noosa Everglades.
The first stop on your everglades journey will be the Kinaba Information Centre. When you arrive, take the time to stretch your legs and wander around the centre to gain some further knowledge about the area, which stretches across 2 UNESCO Biosphere Reserves.
After your time at the centre, jump back into your canoe and paddle to your campsite for the evening, Fig Tree Point. Set up camp and get ready for some more incredible stargazing on this outdoor education course!
Overnight: Fig Tree PointWake up to the sound of cicadas and birds singing and prepare yourself for a fun-filled day on the water. You’ll paddle for 5 km before stopping at Harry's Hut for lunch and a well-deserved break.
After lunch, visit Harry's Hut and learn about the history of the hut and how it’s still standing today!
Continue your paddling journey for another 8 km down the river towards your final campsite, Campsite 3. As you paddle, watch for birdlife - the Noosa Everglades is home to more than 40% of Australia’s bird species!
Set up camp for your final night immersed in nature on this outdoor education course and enjoy a well-deserved rest and a dip in the river.
Overnight: Campsite 3This morning, savour the sounds of nature as you pack up camp for the final time. Jump in your canoe as you get ready for your longest day on the water - it’s 19 km back to your starting point, Elanda Point.
Once you’ve made it to Elanda Point, have some lunch and relax with your friends before jumping on the bus back to Somerville House.
