Touch down in Lima, meet your Infuse Travel Program Leaders and take a private bus to the Miraflores neighbourhood where, after a brief orientation, you’ll settle in for the night. Welcome to Peru and the start of your exciting school trip abroad!
Rise from a good night’s sleep and head back to the airport for the final leg of your journey on this student trip to Peru. Fly to Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire high in the Andes Mountains. Cusco is known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture, making it a delight to explore. At around 3,400 metres, your body will begin to acclimate to this unique city's high elevation.
Hike to the rural communities where you’ll stay for the next couple of days on your school trip abroad. During your time here, you’ll visit with local families, explore Inca ruins, witness majestic mountainscapes and immerse yourself in the communities to better understand life and culture in Peru.
Whilst in the community, you will participate in a meaningful service project. Projects are sustainable and designed to improve the quality of life in the community and the exact nature of the work will vary, depending on the time of year and community need. Your work may include assisting on a potable water project and helping at a girl’s dormitory.
After finishing up your time in the community, you’ll start your day with a picturesque train ride to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of the Machu Picchu ruins.

Get ready, today you will see one of the most famous attractions in the world! Wake up early and experience the grandeur of Machu Picchu in the morning mist. Start with a guided tour of the site’s history before marvelling at the intricate stonework or stealing a moment of relaxation with the breathtaking views from the perched terraces. Take the train back to Ollantaytambo later in the day to relax at the hotel, reflecting on your incredible experience today on your school trip abroad.
