Welcome to Far North Queensland! Upon your arrival in Cairns, you can expect a warm welcome from your Infuse Program Leaders. Transfer to your accommodation, settle in and then join an orientation session on this educational travel tour with your Program Leaders.

This afternoon, you’ll meet with a project manager from the Marine Discoveries Research and Training Centre, where you’ll receive a presentation on the Great Barrier Reef from local marine biologists. This will help you develop a deeper understanding of the impact of climate change on the reef, the roles of marine species and the importance of our coral reefs.

This evening, enjoy a dinner at the Cairns waterfront and soak up the lively atmosphere of tourists and buskers along the esplanade.

Overnight: Cairns

Today is filled with an exciting full-day trip to the outer Great Barrier Reef. "Thank you again – the Reef and Rainforest Trip has without doubt been the highlight of my academic year. It may even be one of the best experiences that I’ve had teaching abroad. I really enjoyed the opportunity to travel to Australia with my students, and I hope to return to the country one day soon!"

"The level of organisation from Infuse to run these programs was truly appreciated as well as the dedication of the program leaders at supporting the participants. We have received very positive feedback from both participants who have attended the programs and their guardians who have particularly noted how meaningful the program experience was for them."
