Fly from Melbourne to Port Lincoln, where you’ll meet your Infuse Program Leaders. Transfer to the foreshore for lunch and an orientation to the outdoor education camp.

Spend the afternoon doing final preparations and then enjoy an evening meal before taking a nighttime transfer to Infuse Island.

Now, survival time begins: you’ll be dropped off on a remote beach in the dark. It’s time to unload your kit and sleep on the beach tonight.

Wake this morning to find yourself on an isolated private beach. In teams, begin setting up your base camp for the next 5 days on the beach or in the sand dunes.

Over the next 4 days and nights of this outdoor education camp, each day will be split into activity blocks that focus on survival skills, wilderness first aid, marine biology and snorkelling and survivor challenges and team building.

You’ll also partake in group reflection and discussion activities for team building and personal development.

During downtime, there are opportunities for swimming, spearfishing, kayaking, walking, volleyball, reading and campcraft. You can fish for calamari, whiting and salmon. Build campfires on the beach and savour the experience of sleeping under the stars on your own private island.

After the last 3 days of survival training, you’ll venture to another part of the island today and support the landowner with an environmental service project.

Historically, the island has been used for sheep farming and much of the island was cleared for grazing.

Over the last 25 years, the owners have been revegetating the island to create habitats for wildlife. Hundreds of thousands of native plants have been directly seeded and planted to revegetate the island, and more than 40 species of birds have returned to the island, which offers a haven from predators.

You’ll also help protect the resident penguin populations that rely on vegetation and nesting boxes to continue to build their colony numbers.

After an early breakfast, head down to the wharf and board the boat for your school travel adventure at sea. Consistently rated as one of the most unforgettable wildlife encounters in the world, this is an incredible opportunity to snorkel with endangered sea lions.

After an exhilarating outing, the boat will drop you back later this afternoon on Infuse Island where you will have a sunset overlooking Boston Bay and reflect on your experiences of the last week at the outdoor education camp.

Bid farewell to your island as you make your way back to Port Lincoln for your flight back to Adelaide and connection to Melbourne. We hope you have enjoyed your island time in South Australia!
