You will fly into Arusha, also known as the Safari Capital of East Africa. Meet your local Infuse Program Leaders at the airport, then head to your accommodation for an evening of orientation activities. Get ready for an exciting week ahead on your student tour in Tanzania!
The next 3 days are focused on working on our international projects for students in Tanzania. Your service work will be concentrated on an education and community infrastructure project designed to provide an improved and sustainable learning environment for students. Engage in after-school games and activities with primary school students to enhance their cross-cultural competence, communication and teamwork skills.
In addition to working on these international projects for students, you’ll immerse in village culture as you learn to cook local foods, milk a cow, try to make the local style of pottery and explore the geography of the village.
It’s safari time! You’ll view the country through a different lens as your Tanzania student tour heads off on an epic 2-day safari, searching for as much iconic African wildlife as you can.
First, spend a half day in Tarangire National Park, which has more African elephants per square kilometre than anywhere else in the world. Make the most of your safari by picking the brains of your experienced guides, who are eager to teach you everything they know about animals, their behaviours and their environment.
Then, overnight at a cozy tented campground over the Rift Valley, fenced for safety and comfort. If you’re lucky, you may hear lions roaring off in the distance!
The safari adventures continue on this Tanzania student tour. Wake up before sunrise and head to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater is home to a stunning diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five and offers breathtaking views of one of Africa's most remarkable natural landscapes.
Go on a game drive through incredibly dense animal populations. Experience the scenic descent into this lush valley, known for its herds of zebra and wildebeest, lion prides and hyena packs. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the endangered black rhino, but remember, wildlife is unpredictable—each encounter is guided by the animals' natural instincts.
Return to Arusha in the evening, sharing memories with your friends.
It’s your last day on your student tour to Tanzania! Spend your final morning doing some last-minute souvenir bargaining for family and friends. If time permits, visit a local artisan social enterprise, where Tanzanians with disabilities make high-quality crafts and goods.
