After spending the morning exploring Hobart, it's time to view the cityscape from 1,300 metres above sea level. As you drive up Mt. Wellington/Kunanyi, make sure you look out the window, because the landscape changes dramatically. You’ll make your way through temperate rainforest to sub-alpine flora and glacial rock formations, ending with panoramic views of Hobart, Bruny Island and the Tasman Peninsula!

Join your Program Leaders as they take you on a short walk to experience all that Mt Wellington offers.

Today you’ll head down to Port Arthur… a picturesque place for a prison! Despite desperate attempts from convicts to escape Port Arthur, the rugged natural landscape and freezing waters made it impossible to do so. Take a tour of the site, learn about the history of the area and find out whether you could have escaped Port Arthur as a convict!

Finish off the second day of this school tour with a trip to some geological formations at Tasman National Park. Overlooking rock chasms and the surging ocean, you will be blown away by the Tasman Arch, the Blow Hole and the Devil's Kitchen!

Embark on a breathtaking coastal boat cruise along Southeast Tasmania, where towering dolerite cliffs, sculpted rock formations, and dramatic ocean waterfalls create an unforgettable natural spectacle. As students journey across the vivid blue waters, they’ll learn about the region’s unique geology and marine ecosystems while witnessing sea caves, blowholes, and sheer vertical columns carved by millennia of wind and waves.

The adventure continues as the boat anchors in a sheltered cove, giving students the chance to slip into the water and snorkel alongside playful seals, experiencing Tasmania’s vibrant underwater world up close. In the afternoon, the group travels north to Coles Bay to settle in and enjoy the stunning gateway to Freycinet.

Begin the day gliding across the calm, turquoise waters of Coles Bay on a guided sea-kayaking adventure, where students paddle beneath the pink granite peaks of the Hazards and trace the shoreline of Freycinet Peninsula’s secluded coves and white-sand beaches. Along the way, they’ll learn about the area’s unique geology, coastal wildlife, and the cultural history of Mooloowa, Freycinet’s traditional lands.

After lunch, the group sets out on foot along the Wineglass Bay Lookout Track, winding through fragrant coastal heath and granite boulders before reaching the famous viewpoint. From the summit, students are rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view of the perfectly curved shoreline and brilliant blue waters of Wineglass Bay below.

It’s time to continue north, as you make your way up the east coast, stopping in Bicheno. Today on this school tour, you’ll be helping out at a wildlife ecology park and aiding the famous Tassie devils!

As you walk through the wildlife sanctuary, you’ll learn about conservation and rescue, breeding programs for endangered species and Tassie devil research. Along with the devils, you’ll also get to encounter a plethora of unique Aussie wildlife including bandicoots, quolls and sugar gliders!

Chip in and give a hand where necessary to aid with the rehabilitation of the Tassie Devils and the preservation of the wildlife at the ecology park.

After your service session, make your way up to St. Helens.

It’s time to get your adrenaline pumping and your legs spinning.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast this morning before heading out on some of the world’s most scenic mountain bike trails. You’ll spend the morning enjoying fun trails that are a mixture of cross-country and downhill mountain biking, with opportunities for all abilities.

In the afternoon, you’ll begin to explore the Bay of Fires, with extraordinarily clear oceans, bright white beaches and striking orange lichen-cloaked boulders. Take a refreshing swim in the turquoise waters, a colour you’ll never forget!

St Helens and the Bay of Fires are home to the state’s second-largest fishing port, which provides the perfect opportunity to meet local fishermen! Check out their catch and ask questions about deep-sea fishing, crayfish catching, spearfishing or anything else fishing-related that you’re interested in.

Make your way back to Hobart today for the final leg of your Tassie school tour adventure!

On your way, make a stop to enjoy a short walk to “The Big Tree”. At around 16 metres in circumference, it’s Australia’s widest tree!

Tonight, head out for a final group dinner to celebrate and spend time as a group debriefing on your Tassie experience. Share memorable moments, highlights, challenges and learnings to take back home.

Enjoy your final morning in town to get some souvenirs and explore Hobart.

Then, say farewell as you head to the airport and fly back to Melbourne in the early afternoon. It’s time to wave goodbye to the southern state and make your way back across the Bass Strait. As you head to the airport, say your fond farewells to your Infuse Program Leaders. See you next time!
