Partner with a local wildlife rehabilitation centre to care for sick and injured animals, take part in a workshop with Australia Zoo and spend time at a wildlife hospital. You’ll gain hands-on experience caring for local wildlife and learning about animal rescue and rehabilitation.
Along the way, explore the beautiful Glass House Mountains, explore environmental projects and immerse yourself in Aboriginal heritage and Sunshine Coast beaches while making a meaningful impact on wildlife conservation.

Infuse Program Leaders will warmly welcome you upon arrival in Brisbane. Transfer to your accommodation in the Glass House Mountains, settle in and then join an orientation session with your leaders.
This afternoon we will take a short hike up to the top of a mountain for magnificent 360-degree views of the Glass House Mountains, farmland, hills and coastline. Watch the sunset behind the hills and hear stories of the area’s Aboriginal history.
Tonight, we’ll eat dinner together and prepare ourselves for the week ahead on this incredible wildlife conservation project for students.
Overnight: Infuse Basehouse, Glasshouse MountainsAfter breakfast, you’ll engage with a member of the local Gubbi Gubbi Aboriginal community. This will be your chance to learn about the traditional owners of this land and hear stories of the area. You will also be able to learn about bush tucker and traditional medicine.
This afternoon, we will support a local community group with environmental service projects on the Sunshine Coast. Projects may include tree planting, sand dune restoration, removal of invasive species or beach clean-ups.

This morning, we will make our way to Australia Zoo to connect with their education team and participate in a workshop to learn about wildlife conservation. We’ll learn how Australia Zoo contributes to global projects and the important work they do in Australia.
Eat lunch whilst watching the famous Wildlife Warriors Show and see first-hand the passion and enthusiasm the crew at the zoo bring to the job.
In the afternoon, visit the wildlife hospital to begin developing your knowledge and skills in caring for wildlife.
Overnight: Infuse Basehouse, Glasshouse MountainsThis morning we make our way through Murphy's Creek to meet the crew from the wildlife rehabilitation centre that we will be supporting for the next 3 days.
Our host is a wildlife biologist who has devoted her life to rehabilitating injured wildlife. She developed her 40-acre property to be a sanctuary for rescued kangaroos, echidnas, emus, lizards and birds.
Projects will depend on her needs at the time but could include cleaning enclosures, building new enclosures, bottle-feeding joeys, cutting eucalyptus leaves for koalas, or any other tasks around the property.
Expect lots of hands-on work to support an under-resourced facility that significantly contributes to the community.
Overnight: Cabins, ToowoombaThis morning, discuss and reflect on your experiences from this wildlife conservation project for students during our Infuse Ties closing ceremony.
Afterwards, say goodbye to the township of Toowoomba and make your way back to Brisbane Airport, where you and Infuse Program Leaders will part ways. We hope you enjoyed your time assisting wildlife in south-east Queensland!
